Berlin Center- Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday at the Prince of Peace Church in Poland for Martin Schneider who died Monday morning at North Side Hospital. Martin was born August 12, 1918 in Springfield Ohio the son of Andrew and Sarah (Froelich) Schneider and formerly lived in Struthers. Martin was a member of Prince of Peace Church, Faternal member of the Saxon Club Branch 30, was an avid bowler and golfer and loved watching the Cleveland Indians. He was employed as an upholsterer at General Fireproofing, retiring in December 1981 after 41 years. He and his wife Edith also formerly owned and operated the Sundown Tavern in Youngstown. He is survived by daughters; Grace (Olin) Harkleroad of North Jackson, Sarah (John) Miller of Berlin Center, Martha (Edward) Sich of Santa Anna, CA. 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. Martin was preceded in death by his wife Edith (Lago) Schneider whom he married May 11, 1940 died in 2000. He was also preceded in death by his brothers; Andrew, John, Paul and sisters Elsie Paulin and Anna Nemenz. Family and friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
