Mary Ann Marcinak

Mary Ann Marcinak, of Struthers, passed away with her family by her side Monday, September 27, 2010 at 4:50 p.m. in her daughter's home in Austintown. She was 86 years old. Mrs. Marcinak was born on August 11, 1924 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Milo and Ellen (Sostarich) Bilich and was a 1942 graduate of Farrell High School. A member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church since July 2009 and a former member for many years of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Struthers, Mary Ann belonged to the St. George Croation Lodge #66 in Youngstown and the Poland KC-ettes Craft Club. She also belonged to the 1942 Farrell High School Reunion Group that met monthly for lunch. Mrs. Marcinak avidly did needle cross stitch and also enjoyed quilting, knitting and reading the paper daily and completing the jumble puzzles in the paper. Mrs. Marcinak was married on August 30, 1952 to John Thomas "Janson" Marcinak and they were married for 32 years until his passing on August 17, 1984. Mrs. Marcinak is survived by two children; Patricia (Ken) Croysdale with whom she made her home, and Dr. John F. (Heather Johnstone) Marcinak of Willmette, Illinois; and five grandchildren Casey S. Croysdale, Kristy (Kevin) Newton, Kelly Croysdale, Kathryn Marcinak and Jacob Marcinak. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Marcinak was preceded in death by two brothers John and Michael Bilich. Calling hours for Mrs. Marcinak will take place on Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 5 until 7 p.m. in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave, Austintown, OH, 44515. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with Fr. Jeffrey Mickler, preceded by closing prayers to be recited at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home prior in leaving for the church. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Coitsville. The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed in Mrs. Marcinak's name to Hospice House 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, Ohio, 44514. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley-Trumbull County especially to Cheryl and Barb for all of their love and care that they gave to Mrs. Marcinak during her time of need.
