Mary Ann Margaret Kramer

Mary Ann M. Kramer, age 90 of Youngstown, died Wednesday morning, April 27, 2011, at Heritage Manor in Youngstown. She was born June 3, 1920 in El Cerrito, California the daughter of the late Henry C. and Catherine Marie (Joyce) Chapman. She was an area resident since 1947 and was raised in California. Mary Ann received her BA in education in 1943 from the University of San Francisco and her Masters of the Arts in Spanish from YSU. She taught for over 17 years in Pennsylvania and Mahoning and Trumbull counties. Since 1947 Mary Ann had been a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren, where she was active in the Ruth Ladies Circle, the Bible Prayer Group and the Warren Red Hatters. More recently, she was a member of New Life Lutheran Church in Liberty Twp. She was a member of the Warren Music Club and volunteered with the Health for Humanity Ohio Network. Mary Ann was a life member of the Mahoning Retired Teachers Assoc. and the Warren Chapter of the American Assoc. of University Women. Her husband, Raymond E. Kramer, whom she married June 28, 1947 preceded in death September 20, 2000. One son, Philip T. Kramer; one daughter, Kathryn M. Kramer; three brothers, Christopher, Thomas and Joyce Chapman and a sister, Margaret Chapman all have preceded her in death. Mary Ann is survived by one son, Michael J. (Connie) Kramer of Leesville, SC; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service on Thursday, May 5, 2011, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren with Pastor Bill Wessner officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231 or the memorial fund of New Life Lutheran Church, 1181 Churchill Hubbard Rd., Liberty, OH 44505.
