Mary Capece Gemma

There will be a private funeral service Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Mary Capece Gemma of the Sterling House who passed away Wednesday evening. Mary was born May 20, 1919 in Hillsville, PA a daughter of the late Angelo and Marianne (Pecoraro) DeCerbo. She was a clerk for the Credit Bureau of Youngstown for many years and a very proud member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church. Her first husband James V. Capece passed away May 21, 1964 and her second husband Lawrence J. Gemma passed away July 11, 2004. Mary is survived by three daughters: Corinne (Gilbert) Boersma of Chicago, IL; Patricia Jones of Westerville; and Gwen (Gerald) Jones of South Carolina; four grandchildren: Donald, (Michelle) Douglas (Cindy), Alyssa, and Heather (Chad); and a great granddaughter Bella Jeanne. Besides her parents and husbands, Mary is preceded in death by three brothers: Patsy, John, and Tony DeCerbo; and two sisters: Arvena Yanacos, and Margaret Slanina.
