Mary Caruso Laprocina

Mary Caruso Laprocina, 91, formerly of Bonnie Brae Ave SE, died at 8:30 PM Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Gillette’s Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was born Sept. 8, 1915 in Ellwood City, PA, the daughter of Pasquale and Giuseppa (Acierno) Caruso. A Warren area resident since 1937, she formerly was a cafeteria worker for Warren City Schools for 20 years retiring in 1980. A long-time member of St. Mary’s Church of Warren and the Amerital Club, she enjoyed traveling, bingo, and especially cooking for her family and friends. Her husband of 59 years, Gabriel, whom she married July 10, 1937, preceded her in death June 1, 1996. She also was preceded in death by a son Ronald, a daughter Angela Stark, sisters Lena Rossi and Elizabeth Landolfi, a brother Nick Caruso, and a grandson Michael Burks. She is survived by 2 daughters, Patricia Cyphert and Marilyn Burks, both of Warren, grandchildren Robert (Trisha) Stark, Robin (Joe) Memmer, Gail Stark, Denise (James) Homa, great grandchildren Michelle, Jamie, Kelly, Scott, Terry, Jake, Sarah, Gabe, and 7 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves son-in-law Robert Stark of Andover, 4 sisters, Jennie Miranti and Helen Frisk, both of Ellwood City, Margaret McCord of Warren, Dorothy (James) Ramsey of Cumberland, MD a brother Dominic (Elsie) Caruso of Fairless Hills, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rev. Bernard Schmalzried will celebrate a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 30, 2007 at St. Mary’s Church of Warren. Friends will be received from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at Roberts-Clark Chapel and from 9:30-10:00 AM Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Pineview Memorial Park.
