Mary E. Koehler

Mary E. Koehler, 101 of Cortland passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Olympia, Washington on August 18, 1909; she is the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Harris Drescher. As a child, Mary grew up in Leavittsburg and moved to Cortland in 1974. She was a cook for the Trumbull County Home for 12 years. She married her husband, Phillip C. Koehler in June of 1929. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1969. Together they shared 40 years of marriage. Also preceding Mary in death is a son Phillip Koehler Jr. and 13 brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children, Rev. James L. Koehler of Bristolville, Kenneth Koehler of Howland, and Donna J. Crawford of Fowler, 18 grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 11am at the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel with Mary’s son, Rev. James L. Koehler officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be at Braceville Township immediately following services at the funeral home.
