Mary Esther Marino

Berlin Center- Funeral services will be held_1:30 PM Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel for Esther Marino, age 61 of 16574 Mock Rd. who died Sunday at the Hospice Care Center in Akron. Esther was born May 16, 1945 in Fall River, Tenn. and was the daughter of Roy and Mary L. (Howell) Franks. She had been a Case Worker for Stark County Jobs of Family Services where she had worked for 18 years. She was a member of Westview Church of Christ, N.A.M.I. (Nat. Assoc. of Mentally ILL), former Girl Scout Leader and former P.T.A. President at Western Reserve High School. Esther had been a reporter for various newspapers in the area and loved her church, gardening and grandchildren. Her life was an example of Proverbs 31 verse 10. Esther is survived by her husband Edward J. Marino whom she married Oct. 2, 1965. She also leaves her mother Lucille, three children, David (Roseann) Marino of Canfield, Beth (Eric) Strickland of Pittsburgh, Pa., Joe Marino of Berlin Center, two brothers Dean Franks of Cleveland, Wayne Franks of Lawrenceburg, TN and seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Philip, Nicholas, Stephen Strickland and Anthony, Joshua and Madison Marino. She was preceded in death by her father Roy and a brother Larry Franks. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-6 PM Wednesday and 1 hour prior to services on Thursday.
