Mary Jane Hluchan

Mary Jane Hluchan, formerly of 1183 Greenville Rd. NW in Bristolville died 12:55 AM Thursday April 13, 2006 at Windsor House of Champion following a lengthy illness. She was born May 30, 1915 in Century, PA the daughter of Frank and Rose (Kozlevcar) Maycheck. An area resident since 1926, she married George Hluchan October 12, 1935 and moved to Bristolville in 1938. She was a Practical Nurse graduating from the Philadelphia School of Practical Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA. She was an active member of the Bristolville Church of the Brethren where she was a lifetime Deaconess, a member of the Ladies Aid Society, taught Sunday school and was a former Sunday School Superintendent. A loving homemaker, she enjoyed all kinds of crafts, quilting, gardening and travel. She also was a member of the Women’s Relief Corps. for over 50 years, the Bristolville Historical Society, and the Bristolville Homemakers. She is survived by a daughter Donna Jean Holko and husband Andrew of Bristolville, 2 sons Gabriel G. Hluchan and wife Mary Louise of Youngstown, Duane A. Hluchan and wife Carlotta of Pt. Orange, FL, 6 grandchildren Sheryl Holko, Andrew Holko III, Kurt Holko, Tami Hluchan, Kelly French, Bradley Hluchan and 4 great grandchildren Andrew Holko IV, Bradley Holko, Beck Holko and Cassidy Rose Hluchan. She also leaves a sister Mrs. Joe (Victoria) Konecsni of Connecticut. She was preceded in death by her husband George in 2000, a brother William Maycheck, and 3 sisters Mrs. Frank (Annie) Krofecheck, Mrs. Mike (Bertha) Kufchak and Rose Maycheck. Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Saturday April 15, 2006 at the Bristolville Church of the Brethren where friends will be received from 12:30 until service time. Pastor Fred Keener will officiate. Burial will be in Sager Memorial Cemetery. Material contributions may be made to Bristolville Church of the Brethren 6410 Thompson Clark Rd. Bristolville, OH 44402.
