Mary Jean March

Mary Jean March, 85 of Niles, died Friday, February 20, 2015, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren. She was born October 14, 1929 in Warren, the daughter of the late Carlo and Teresa DePlacito Buresti. She was a lifelong Trumbull county resident. Jean was a 1947 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and attended Youngstown College. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving as a teleman during the Korean War from 1951-55. After serving in the Navy, she worked for Western Union. After raising her family and enjoying her time as a homemaker, she re-entered the work force with the American Cancer Society. Jean retired in 2002 from the Trumbull County Department of Job and Family Services. Jean was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles. She was a member of the Newton Falls American Legion Post and had been a member of the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and her monthly lunches with her Harding classmates. She was an avid sports fan, especially of the Cleveland Indians. She loved to cook and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey R. (Lorijo) March of Howland and Robert M. (Margaret) March of Warren; three daughters, Barbara J. (Anthony) Cella of Girard and twins, Marilyn (Brian) McConnell of Girard and Carolyn (Peter) Mollica of Niles; twelve grandchildren, Gina, Kelsi and Rachel March, Alyse and Natalie March, Giani and Marina Cella, Jared and Dylan McConnell and Jacob, Allee and Marco Mollica; one sister, Jerri Florio of Howland and one brother, Carl (Rosalyn) Buresti of Cortland. Her husband, Robert Frank March, whom she married June 7, 1958 preceded in 1989 and one sister, Betty Kennedy also preceded her in death A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 525 N.. Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406 or to the donor's favorite charity.
