Mary Silver Barlow, of Boardman, passed away on Tuesday at the Cleveland Clinic after a very short illness. Mary was born in Damascus, Ohio, on December 22, 1926. She was the daughter of Emma Elizabeth Pim and Edwin Silver, of Struthers. Mary attended Mt. Union College and was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority. She had a career as a secretary for the Youngstown City Schools and retired from Choffin Career Center ten years ago. She was an active member of Canfield Presbyterian and had served as a Deacon and volunteered on many committees at the church. Mary married Bob Barlow on July 31st, 1990, at the gazebo in the Rose Garden in Mill Creek Park. Mary and Bob’s years together were filled with joy and happiness and their love will endure. Mary was blessed with a beautiful, loving family. She is survived by her husband Bob, her twin sister, Martha (Howard) Hood of Woodsfield, Ohio, her daughter Kathy (Tom) Shook of Canfield, and her son, Ron (Dianne) Malin of Newtown, Connecticut. She has five step children; Bill (Ava) Barlow of Columbiana, Bob (Cindy) Barlow of Howland, Tony Barlow, Susan (Pat) Mudd and Carol Gorman of Orlando, Florida. She has six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and three nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, by James Malin and Joseph Reto, and a stepson, Michael Barlow. Mary had exuberance about life and enjoyed sports, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family. She had a very special bond with her identical twin sister, Martha, and they experienced a lot of joy among themselves and with their family. Her wisdom, strength and humor has been a gift to all who knew her and her memory will bring a warm comfort and smile to those whose lives she touched.
