Mary Lee O'Malley

Mary Lee (Monmirth) O'Malley, 92, of Warren, passed away July, 2 2013 at the Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, OH. She was born September 24, 1920 in Mount Clare, WV, daughter of the late Daymond and Elizabeth (Halko) Monmirth. Mary Lee graduated from Shinnston High School in West Virginia and attended Oklahoma A&M College and New York Hunter College. She proudly joined the US Navy alongside her brothers during WWII and served in the Waves as a Decoder, and obtained the rank of Yeoman 2nd class. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 31 in Shinnston, WV. Mary Lee retired from GE Trumbull Lamp after 28 years. Mary Lee was also a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Warren. She is survived by one brother, Daymond E. (Paula) Monmirth of Norfolk, VA; two sisters-in-law, Joan Monmirth and Olga O'Malley both of Warren; two nieces, Dana Lee Barnhart of Lumberport, WV and Mary Glenda Wade of Little Rock, AR as well as several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold O'Malley in 2000; stepson Tom O'Malley and three brothers, Ralph, Harry and Thomas Monmirth. Funeral services were held 12:00 Friday July 5, 2013 at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, in Warren. The family received friends one hour prior to the service. Entombment followed in the Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna. Memorials may be made in Mary Lee's name to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 3020 Reeves Rd., N.E. Warren, OH 44483.
