Mary Lou Garrett

Brookfield Mary Lou Garrett, 73, passed away surrounded family and friends, Monday evening, February 8, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, OH. Mary Lou was born on October 8, 1942 in Sharon, PA, a daughter of the late Robert Bennett and Lena Hightree Holm. She was a 1961 graduate of Joseph Badger High School and found employment at Faber's Nursing Home until she retired in 1996. She attended Hartford Community Church and was a member of Hartford United Methodist Church. She was a member of a card club where she enjoyed playing cards with her friends. She also enjoyed baking for her family, especially her apple and pumpkin pies. Mary Lou was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved her animals. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Mitchell Garrett whom she married on December 20, 1997 and her children Jim (Trish) Cratsley and Todd (Darcy) Cratsley; her step daughter, Krista (John) Hollobaugh; her step son, Mitchell (Amy) Garrett; six grandchildren, Morgan Cratsley, Hannah Cratsley, Cade Cratsley, Johannah Hollobaugh, Kyle Hollobaugh, and Zachary Hollobaugh; and one great-grandchild Kyle Hollobaugh Jr. She will also be missed by her sister Julia (Wallace) Yeager and her four best friends, Isabel Haun, Nancy Wilhelm, Nancy Poltar, and Betsy Steadman (cousin) She was preceded in death by her parents. Family will receive friends on Thursday February 11, 2016 from 5-7:00PM and from 11-12:00PM on Friday February 12, 2016 with funeral services to follow at Lane Family Funeral Homes Madasz Chapel located at 6923 Warren-Sharon Road Brookfield, OH 44403. Interment will take place at Hartford Center Cemetery in Hartford, OH.
