Mary Lou Marek

Mary Lou Marek 78, of Masury, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday morning March 31, 2010 at Humility of Mary Hospice House in Poland, OH. A life long resident of Masury, she was born on February 10, 1932 to the late Michael and Dorothy (Lunn) Mittal. Mary Lou graduated in 1950 from Brookfield High School. Following her graduation, she went on to marry Robert Marek on August 19, 1950 at St. Bernadette�s Church in Masury by Father Joseph Bresnyak. They would go on to spend more than fifty-three years of marriage together and five children before his death on April 14, 2004. Mary Lou was a homemaker and had enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble with her family. She was fond of her Elephant figurines collection which over the years grew as family and friends would add to the collection. She also enjoyed going to Bingo, word puzzles, and taking trips to various casinos in the area, and would always look forward to meeting with her high school classmates once a month at various restaurants until her failing health prevented her. Mrs. Marek will be missed by her three sons James Marek and his wife Kathy of Merritt Island, FL, Marcus Marek and his close friend Donna Benoit of New Ipswich, NH, and Michael �Noot� Marek and his wife Gina of Brookfield, OH; her two daughters Sheila Wasylink and her husband Terry of Cortland, OH and Tina Laudo and her husband Tom of West Middlesex, PA; her brother Michael Mittal and his wife Karen of the Villages, FL; her sister Pauline Johnson of Randolph, OH; nine grandchildren; a great-grandson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and by her Toy Fox Terrier Lucy. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband on April 14, 2004, her brothers Paul and James Mittal, and by her sisters Delores Mittal and Helen Ferguson. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM Tuesday morning April 6, 2010 at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church 7808 Locust Street Masury, OH 44438, with Rev. Frank Zanni and Rev. John Lody Concelebrating the Mass. Friends may call on Monday evening from 5-8:00PM at the Lane Funeral Homes, Madasz Chapel in Brookfield, OH and on Tuesday one hour prior to the Mass at the St. Bernadette�s Church. Burial will be with her husband at Brookfield Township Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Humility of Mary Hospice House 5190 Market Street Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
