Mary M. Ellis, 75 of Leavittsburg, passed away peacefully 12:30 AM Wednesday April 6, 2011 at her home with her family at her side following a lengthy illness. She was born March 10, 1936 in Becco, WV the daughter of Luther and Ina (Withrow) Gentry. A Warren area resident since 1989, she was formerly employed as office manager for the Man Motor Lodge in Man, WV and more recently as a retail clerk at Valley View Department store in Brookfield, OH. A Baptist by faith, she was a loving and devoted homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, flower arranging, and rooting for the Cleveland Indians. But most important to her was spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Her husband Ray Ellis whom she married Feb. 3, 1951 preceded her in death Jan. 28, 1979. She also was preceded in death by 2 brothers Billy Earl Gentry, Luther Gentry Jr. , a sister Martha Louise Brooks, and 3 grandsons; Tucker J. Ellis, Daniel Ellis, and Joshua Ellis. She will be sadly missed by her seven children; Linda (Bud) Henderson of Leavittsburg, Sue (Leland) Tilghman of Bowling Green, KY, Lisa (Keith) Thomas with whom she made her home, John (Shannon) Ellis of Warren, Julie (Steve) Hooser of Roaming Shores, OH, Cheryl (Albert) Gross of Whitman, WV, and Marcia (Greg) Gotti of Champion. She also leaves 4 brothers; Walter (Dorena) Gentry, Donald (Norma) Gentry, Delmas "Jay" Gentry, Allen (MaryAnn) Gentry, 30 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Friends will be received Friday April 8, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Roberts -Clark Chapel and from 11-12 Monday April 11 at the Krantz-McNeeley Funeral Home 115 Market St. Man, WV with a funeral service at 12 noon. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery Peck's Mill, WV.
