Mary M. Korda

Mary M. Korda, "Micki", age 78, of Austintown, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on the first Sunday of Lent, February 22, 2015 at 5:45 PM at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio. Mary was born in Youngstown, on November 21, 1936, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mabel Danks Bailey. Micki was a South High School graduate who worked for several retail chain stores, but Mary was mainly a homemaker who loved her family unconditionally. She enjoyed roller skating, bingo, flea markets, antiquing and watching her soaps. Micki's greatest joy was her family, she was our mother, wife, nana, and best friend and the heart of our family and will always be missed. Life will live on in her husband, Michael "Pete", whom she married on July 20, 1956; her children, Michael (Tami) Korda of Ellsworth, Lori (Joe Hampson) Smith of Salem; her grandchildren, Nicole, Chelsea, Tori, Timothy "TT", and Dalton; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Olivia, and Brayden; one sister, Kay (Dick) Vaughn. Micki was preceded in death by her siblings, Dick, James, and Larry Bailey, Peggy Schrader, and Patricia Bailey; niece, Cheryl Vaughn; nephews, Jimmy Bailey, and Billy Bailey. Funeral services will be held at the Lane Family Funeral Homes-Austintown Chapel, on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 6:00 PM, where family and friends may visit from 4:00 6:00 PM, where Father James Korda will celebrate his aunt's life.
