Mary Margaret Galik

Mary Margaret Galik, age 91 of Austintown, Ohio died on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 9:05 AM at her home. She was born on December 27, 1923, the daughter of the late John and Nancy Cable Cooper in Lisbon, Ohio, Mary graduated from Lisbon High School in 1941. During WWII she worked at the Goodyear Aircraft Co. on the line with an electric saw. She also worked at North Side Hospital for about two years in the records department from about 1966-1968. For ten years, 1969-1979 Mary worked in the kitchen at Glenview Manor. Mary was a member of Four Mile Run Christian Church. She was a member of the 55+ Club in Mineral Ridge and the Womens Fellowship at the church. Survivors include her children, Nancy (George) Zamary of Poland, Joyce (Jack) Fetherolf with whom she made her home, and Mary (David) Seifert of Girard; three grandchildren, Kim Zamary, George (Sarah) Zamary, and Adam (Julie) Seifert; six great-grandchildren, Katie, Hannah, Sally, Delle, Addison, and Abigail. Other than her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Valent J. Galik on December 30, 2004, they were united in marriage on February 12, 1945; and three brothers, Cecil, Dale, and Kenneth Cooper. Funeral services will be held at the Lane Family Funeral Homes-Austintown Chapel at 6 :00 PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 where Pastor Rick O. Enlow will celebrate Mary's life. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 4:00 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband in Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Mary's nurse, Cheryl, the aids, and staff of Hospice of the Valley for the wonderful care and compassion they gave our mother. We also want to thank the Sisters and staff at Antonine Sisters ADC for their kindness toward our mother.
