Mary Margaret Wilson

Mary Margaret Wilson, 100 of Howland Township, Ohio died Saturday evening, January 31, 2015, at Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles. She was born June 29, 1914 in Totonto, Ohio the daughter of the late John Wesley and Margaret Johnston Boyd. She had been a Howland resident since 1968 coming from Jefferson county. Mary was a graduate of Toronto High School. She worked for over 30 years at the Isaly's Dairy in Steubenville as a bookkeeper. Mary had been an active member of the Howland Community Church, where she volunteered working with the youth group activities. She served as a volunteer at Hillside Hospital in Howland and enjoyed flower gardening and cooking and baking, making a delicious rhubarb pie. Mary is survived by two sons, Thomas D. (Janet) Wilson of Winston Salem, NC and David E. (Patricia) Wilson of Murrells Inlet, SC; one daughter, Mary Lee (Daniel) Smith of Howland; six grandchildren, Scott and Paige Wilson, Lisa (Rob) Patterson, Greg (Kerri) Wilson and Jason and Todd Smith; four great grandchildren, Melaina and Trent Patterson and Reid and Abigail Wilson; one nephew, Leslie T. Boyd of Follansbee, WV and one niece, Sandra Sue Boyd of Amsterdam, OH. Her husband, Dwight Eugene Wilson, whom she married in November 1968, preceded her in death in 1973. One brother, James T. Boyd and one nephew, John E. Boyd have both preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Christ United Methodist Church, 203 Church St., East Springfield, OH, where the family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service. Pastor Robert Welch is officiating. Burial will be in East Springfield Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren.
