Maryrose A. Kelly

Maryrose A.(Basile) Kelly, 81, of Howland, OH formerly of Monroe, MI, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 23, 2007 in St. Joseph Hospital in Warren, OH. She had been ill for several years, seriously since April of this year. She lived with her daughter Marialaina Kelly Hamilton and son-in-law Charles Hamilton Sr. and family. Maryrose was born June 29, 1926 in Monroe, MI to Christ and Florence (Tondola) Basile. She worked through her young adult life as a nurse at old Mercy Hospital in Monroe, Cook County Hospital in Chicago, St. Charles Hospital in Toledo and Lynn Hospital in Lincoln Park, MI. She was also a home caregiver to many people as well as her mother until her passing in 1967. She worked at Gould Factory, was a Blue Bird and Campfire leader in the late 60’s and early 70’s and was also a monitor and Lunch Mom at Lincoln School in MI. Maryrose was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the church’s Christian Women’s group in Monroe. She also was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. She enjoyed cooking Italian foods, pastries, and making wine and sharing it with everyone she knew. She loved crocheting, bingo, dancing, and most of all being with her family. Maryrose is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, three granddaughters, Angela, Bernadette, and Desiree, a grandson, Charles Jr., two great grandchildren, Tyler Hamilton and Nevaeh Phipps, two brothers, Ignatius Basile and William Ziegler, and two sisters, Carmella Hesson and Katherine Nadeau. In addition to her parents, Maryrose was preceded in death by four brothers; James, Patsey, John and Chris Basile. Visitation for Maryrose will be Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 5 to 8PM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren, OH. Additional visitation will be held at the Rupp Funeral Home in Monroe, MI on Thursday from 4 to 9PM and Friday from 1 to 9PM. Fr. William Fisher, pastor at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Monroe, MI will officiate a funeral Mass Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 11AM at the church. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe, MI.
