Mavis Riley

Mavis B. Riley of Cortland, OH died Saturday morning May 18, 2013 at her home. She was born in Bedford, Pa on June 9, 1947 a daughter of Kenneth and Faye (Price) Beck. Mavis was a graduate of Bedford High School and went on to marry her husband Kenneth P. Riley on July 6, 1965. Together they have shared over forty-seven years of marriage and their two daughters Tina and Anita. Mrs. Riley retired from the Cortland Library as the branch manager for over thirty years of public service. She also enjoyed reading and spending her time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Riley is survived by her husband Ken at home; her two daughters Tina (Chris) Medved of Chillicothe, OH and Anita (Steve) Belanger of Florida; two brothers D. Zane (Bonnie) Beck and Kevan Beck of Bedford, PA; and one sister Velma Mallow of Bedford, PA. Also surviving her, are her three beloved grandchildren Aaron Medved of Texas, Grace Belanger, and Emma Belanger of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents. Rev. Curt Miller will conduct funeral services which be held at Lane Family Funeral Homes Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland, Ohio beginning at 1:00PM on Tuesday May 21, 2013. Friends may call from 11:00AM to 1:00PM prior to the start of the service.
