Maxine Mcintyre

SALEM-Funeral Services will be held at 10:30AM Wednesday, July 5, 2006 in the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Maxine McIntyre, of Salem, who passed away at 6:59AM Saturday, July 1, 2006 in Salem Community Hospital. Maxine was 78. Maxine was born on April 13, 1928 in Canfield, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Russell and Georgia (West) Stouffer and lived in the area all of her life. Maxine retired after 25 years with Mellinger Lumber, where she worked as a bookkeeper. Maxine was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Salem and taught Sunday school for 15 years. Maxine was a member of the Grandma’s Club and was a 4-H Advisor for 2 years. Maxine enjoyed doing needle point. Maxine was married for 34 years to Roland A. McIntyre on October 26, 1946 until his passing on December 5, 1980. Maxine is survived by two daughters Karen S. (Bill) Hazel of Salem, and Patricia Gorthy of Key Largo, Fl; three sisters Cheryl Ferree of Pennsylvania, Shirley Jenkins of Poland, and Mary Ann Nichols of New York; one brother Dick Stouffer; eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Maxine was preceded in death by a son Dale A. McIntyre; and two brothers Bub and Howard Stouffer. Family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until the hour of service on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 in the funeral home.
