Michael A. Rigo

Canfield-Funeral services will be held at 3pm Tuesday the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Michael A. Rigo, formerly of Canfield who died Saturday morning at Brairfield Manor. Michael was born June 4, 1915 in Monaca Pa. the son of Michael and Julia Rigo. He retired from Wean United Machine Company in 1979 after 30 years of service in the engineering department. A graduate of Girard High School, he attended Youngstown State and Temple Universities. Michael also worked in the Philadelphia Naval shipyard from 1939 to 1947. He was a seventy year member of the First Unitarian Church of Youngstown. As a member of the Masons, Michael was a member of Argus Lodge #545 F&AM, was a fifty eight year member of Youngstown’s 32 degree ancient accepted Scottish Rite as well as a fifty eight year member of the Aut Mori Grotto. Michael was also a member of the Canfield Community Club and Canfield AARP#3104. An ardent golfer, he played in various golf leagues in the Canfield, Youngstown and Warren areas for seventy years. His hobbies also included world travel, and photography. Besides his wife the former Ruth Demmel Krebs whom he married June 26, 1982, he leaves four step sons; Frederick (Cathryn) Krebs of Annandale, VA., Mark (Mary Beth) Krebs of Maumee, OH., Paul (Marjori) Krebs of Bowling Green, OH. and Kenneth (Jackie) Krebs of New Albany, OH. He also leaves nine step grandchildren and two sisters; Margaret Beno of Youngstown and Irene MacDonald of San Diego, CA. Michael was preceded in death by his first wife the former Mary Pfingsgraff and a brother Joseph Rigo. Family and friends may call from 1 to 3 pm Tuesday at the funeral home with services to follow at 3 pm. The family request that Memorial Tributes be made to Hospice of the Valley or to the First Unitarian Church of Youngstown 1105 Elm St.
