MICHAEL “BUB” BODNOVICH Michael “Bub” Bodnovich of Masury, died at 8:30 AM Wednesday at Heritage Manor in Youngstown, OH. He was 84. Mr. Bodnovich was born in Allison, PA on Aug. 25, 1922, a son of Andrew and Sophia Shirilla Bodnovich. He served in the United States Navy during World War II as a First Class Store Keeper (Disbursing). Michael worked for GATX for over 37 years in the maintenance department. He retired in 1987. Mr. Bodnovich was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Hermitage, American Legion Pos 0160, and V.F.W. Post 3521. He enjoyed sports especially Ohio State Football and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. Michael enjoyed music and traveling with his family. Survivors include: His wife Carmella “Maizie” Chan, whom he married July 10, 1948 in Brownsville, PA; 3 children, Larry Michael Bodnovich, Tina Giancola, and Daniel Andrew Bodnovich all of Masury; 1 brother, George Bodnovich of Tower Hill, PA; 3 sisters, Mary Felesky of New York City, NY, Elizabeth Ford of Brimfield, OH, and Catherine “Kay” Yuliano of Brookfield, OH; 2 grandchildren, Tara Giancola and Melissa Marley; 2 great-grandchildren, Makayla and Mary Marley. He was preceded in death by: his parents; 3 brothers, Tony, Steve, and John Bodnovich; 1 sister, Helen Stolfi. Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, Hermitage, PA, with Fr. Frank A. Firko. At the funeral home prior to mass on Saturday, their will be Panachida at 9:15 AM. Calling hours will be from 5-8 PM Friday at Madasz Funeral Chapel. Rosary will be said at 4: 30 and Parastas at 5:00 PM Friday Evening. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
