YOUNGSTOWN: Michael P. Hemminger July 15, 1945-May 14, 2013 Michael P. Hemminger, age 67, of Youngstown passed away Tuesday at his home following a declining period of health. Born July 15, 1945 in Youngstown, he was the son of Robert and Joan (Mackin) Hemminger. Mr. Hemminger graduated from Fitch High School in 1963, was an Eagle Scout with Troop #84, attended Boy's State and graduated from the University of Mount Union where he was the captain of the football team. He retired from Burton Berkshire High School where he taught English and was the head Football Coach. He coached at several area schools including: Howland, Warren-Harding, Fitch, and Marlington High School; he also coached Football at Adrian College in Adrian, MI. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Lyn (Deyermond) whom he married on May 17, 1975; sisters: Robin Angel-Trgovac of Hermitage, PA, Deborah "Debbie" Hemminger of San Diego, CA, Bonnie (Phil) Steffen of Winfield, Ill, and Lisa Hemminger of San Diego, CA; niece Kerrie Angel and nephew Matt (Tracy) Angel; several great nephews, nieces, and cousins; sisters and brother in law: Andrea (David) Rollins of AZ, Karen (Brian) Drought of MA, and Timothy (Lisa) Deyermond of NH, several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew Michael Angel, and a great nephew Dominic. Friends will be received at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel on Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 10AM12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Services have been entrusted to the Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel (330-744-2289).
