Mildred C. Pruett, of Salem, passed away Wednesday morning at Essex of Salem. She was born August 15, 1922 in Washingtonville, OH a daughter of the late Charles C. and Minnie K. (Schultz) Campbell. Mildred was a 1941 graduate of Lowellville High School, and had attended Hunter College and Oklahoma University. She had been a taxpayer service specialist for the IRS for 24 years retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Austintown Community Church where she was active in assisting with the church bulletins. She enjoyed traveling and helped with various projects at the Canfield Fair. Mildred served in the US Navy Waves during WWII. Her husband James Pruett, whom she married February 13, 1958, passed away June 1, 1986. Mildred is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Dorothy (Albert) Votaw of Salem, and Mrs. Alice Mellinger of Canfield; and several nieces and nephews. Mildred is preceded in death by a sister Margaret Walters and a brother Earl Cox. Friends may call from 10-11 AM Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM.
