Mildred E. Maynard

Mildred E. (Quigley) Maynard, age 86, of Farmdale, Ohio, passed peacefully from this life on Monday, May 5, 2008, at the Hospice House of Poland. She was born on October 1, 1921 in Robbinsville, NJ., the daughter of the late Harry Quigley and the late Hattie (Cromwell) Quigley. Mrs. Maynard had lived in New Jersey for forty years before moving to Farmdale in 1963. She was a member of the Johnston Federated United Methodist Church where she had been active in many different church activities. Mildred was a big fan of country music and enjoyed gardening, crafts and sewing. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandchildrens various activities. Her husband, Harry M. Maynard, whom she married on November 27, 1941, preceded her in death on October 9, 1985. She is survived by one son, Robert H. (Cheryl) Maynard of Greenville, PA.; three daughters, Melodee A. Mayer-Fleischer of NJ., Linda J. (Victor) Chaney of Pittsburgh, PA. and Nancy B. (Thomas) Galvin of Farmdale. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Richard Mayer of NJ, Daniel Mayer of San Francisco, Thomas Fleischer of Philadelphia, Shaun (Amber) Chaney of Pittsburgh, Keri (Edward) Pazul of Pittsburgh, Caitlin and Gwyneth Galvin of Farmdale, as well as five great grandchildren, Kyra and Tyler Mayer of NJ., Carter and Zoe Chaney of Pittsburgh and Lilly Pazul of Pittsburgh and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Maynard was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Quigley and Robert Quigley and by one sister, Lulu Quigley. Private family services will take place in New Jersey at a later date. The family would like to express their gratitude to both St. Joseph Hospital and the Hospice House of Poland for their caring comfort. In lieu of flowers, material contributions can be made to the Hospice House of Poland, 9803 Sharrott Rd, Poland, OH. 44514. Arrangements are being handled by Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel.
