Millard Ellwood Elswick

WEATHERSFIELD TWP-Millard E. Elswick, 65, of Weathersfield Township, passed away suddenly Monday, April 16, 2007 at 11PM in his home. Millard was born August 19, 1941 in Charleston, WV, the son of the late Elisha and Geneva (Carpenter) Elswick. Millard retired in 1996 after working for over 25 years for Weathersfield Township where he was Road Superintendent. Millard served in the National Guard. In his past time, Millard had an enjoyment in walking his dog, Mitzi, watching football, and cracking jokes with people he knew and did not know. A loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend; Millard will be missed by his wife the former Karen Whittaker whom he married Christmas Day 1960; three children Glenda (Thomas) Adams of Lordstown, Tami (John) Ayers of Erie, PA, and Kevin (DeAnn) Elswick of Brookfield; three sisters Betty Jo McClean of Hollywood, Fl, Patricia (Woody) Gregory of Mineral Ridge, and Linda (Les) Nagy of Niles; a brother Larry (Darlene) Elswick of Lordstown; eight grandchildren Willy Adams, Dina (Jay) Baxter, Priscilla Rhodes, Ricky and Nathan Ayers, Shawn, Cameron, and Jordan Elswick; and a great granddaughter Chloe Baxter. Besides his parents, Millard was preceded in death by his uncle and aunt Millard W. and Nellie Elswick, who reared him; and a brother Robert Billman Elswick. Dignified and Caring Arrangements are entrusted to the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel, 1350 Canfield-Niles Road, Mineral Ridge where family will receive friends on Thursday, April 19, 2007 from 6 until 8 PM and again on Friday, April 20, 2007 for one hour prior to the services in the funeral home. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 11AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Kerr Cemetery, Weathersfield Township.
