Mineral Ridge- Memorial services will be held 6 PM Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Mineral Ridge for Myron Alan Matthews age 64 of Port St. Lucie, Fl. formerly of Mineral Ridge who died early Friday morning at his parents home. Myron was born Nov. 4, 1939 in Warren and was the son of Myron and Elaine (McMahan) Matthews. He had been a self-employed barber and had owned and operated Aartcraft Awards in Port St. Lucie, FL. Myron was a member of the First Congregational Church in Fl. was a member of Elks Lodge #2658 for 27 years where he had been Past Exalted Ruler and was a five year trustee. He was also a graduate of Mineral Ridge High School and enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling and cooking and was very active in community services. Myron is survived by his parents of Mineral Ridge, his partner Carol Tarallo of Port St. Lucie, FL, four sons, Stephen (Paula) Matthews of Mineral Ridge, Scott Andrew (Melanie) Matthews of New Philadelphia, OH, Marty Alan (Karen) Matthews, Jr. of Howland, Gerre Alan (Cindy) Matthews of Niles, a step-daughter Terri Ethridge and son-in-law Jay Ethridge of Florida and nine grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the church after the services for a small reception. Arrangements were handled by Lane Funeral Home-Mineral Ridge, Chapel.
