Nancy Daugherty

Cortland, Nancy Daugherty, 72, passed away Friday evening, September 19, 2014 at her home. Nancy was born on March 6, 1942, in Greenville, PA, the daughter of Wanye Eakin Sr. and Violet (Kaller) Eakin. She was a 1961 graduate at Jamestown High School. She was an Elder at Cortland Christian Church, a member of the Red Hat Society, a member at the Grange, a Girl Scout Leader for fifteen years and received a thanks badge for outstanding volunteering, and she was an Eastern Star Worthy Matron Opal Chapter. Nancy will be missed by her husband Thomas Daugherty of Cortland, whom she married on September 28, 1974, her daughter Heather (Kurt) Baumgartel of Valencia, PA, her son Wesley Daugherty of Cortland, her two grandchildren Luke and Jenna Baumgartel, and her brother Wayne (Joyce) Eakin Jr. of Jamestown, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Tom Eakin, her maternal grandmother Mildred Straub, her Aunt Ruth, and her niece Paula Wall. Services for Nancy will be held Monday, September 22, 2014 at the Cortland Christian Church at 12:00PM officiated by Reverend Donald P. Barnes. Visitation will be held two hours prior at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Memorial Fund at the Cortland Christian Church or the American Cancer Society.
