Nancy M. Book

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Nancy Book who died Sunday evening in St. Elizabeth Hospital. Nancy was born January 8, 1931 in Austintown the daughter of Ralph C. and Laura J. (Oliver) Martin and was a life long area resident. Nancy was a member of the First Federated Church, Women of the Moose in Niles, Ladies Auxiliary of the Jackson Twp. Fire Department, Pythian Sisters of North Jackson and was a former Girl Scout Leader (1969-1970). She was employed as a dispatcher for Jackson Twp. Retiring in 1994 and a graduate of Chaney High School. Nancy is survived by her husband J. Perry Book whom she married November 28, 1968, children: Donald P. (Chris) McDougal of North Jackson, Ronald C. McDougal in Florida, Debra J. Marshall of Homeworth, Robert A. (John Sowers) McDougal of Columbus, Alva C. Book of Boardman, John Perry (Kim) Book Jr. of Durham N.C., Cheri (John) Book Anstead of Youngstown, Keith L. (Teri) Book of Greenford and Cindy D. Book of Salem. She is also survived by one sister, Effie (Tottie) Lewis Evert of Austintown, 23 grandchildren. 18 great grandchildren and several nieces' and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her first husband Paul H. McDougal whom she married February 4, 1949 and who died in August of 1967, grandchildren Tomlynn Marie, Johnnie Marie, son in law Melvin Marshall, brothers; Ralph, Wayne, Buzzy and Wade Martin. Family and friends may call from 5-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to the American Diabetes Association.
