Naomi R. Socie

Youngstown- Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel for Naomi R. Socie age 91 of Youngstown who died late Friday evening at her daughters home. She was know as Grandma Group to everyone. Naomi was born Aug. 8, 1911 in Phillipsburg, Pa. and was the daughter of James Cameron and Emma (Butler) Oswalt. She was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Church, loved to play Bingo, read and enjoyed spending time with her family. Her husband, John Bernard Socie whom she married May 21 1934 died April 1962. She is survived by a daughter Ruth Group with whom she made her home, three sons, John (June) Socie of Edenburg, Pa., Michael (Marilyn) Socie of Warren, Joseph (Rita) Socie of Youngstown, 21 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and 6 great great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son George Socie, a sister Rachael Hite and three brothers, Gerald, Walter and Paul Oswalt. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. The family requests that material contributions be made to the American Heart Assoc.
