Austintown—Services will be at 1 PM on Tuesday at Tabernacle Evangelical Church in Austintown for Nicholas Adam Avery, 15, of Austintown who went home to be with the Lord early Friday morning at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis TN after a courageous battle with cancer. Nick was born January 5, 1991 in Youngstown the son of Steve and Wendy (Briggs) Avery and was a student at Heartland Christian School. He was a member of the church and its youth group. Nick was a friend to everyone he knew. There is no one who didn’t like him. His sense of humor was amazing and he had this great ability to make everyone laugh. Nick loved his music. He was quickly becoming very good on the guitar and wanted to play in a band. He had planned on being an architect and loved to draw and build things out of practically nothing. He loved spending time with his friends making home movies, going to concerts with his sister, and spending countless hours watching movies with his brother. Most importantly was his love for Jesus and trust in him for whatever was ahead. Besides his parents, Nick leaves one brother Joshua and one sister Alisha both at home, grandparents’ Kenneth and Janis Avery of Chatham, OH and Janice Briggs of Seville, OH, Nick also leaves several Uncles and Aunts; Mark Avery, Brian (Robin) Avery, Kurt (Aimee) Avery, Matt (Mary) Avery, Cathy (Harry) Kimes, Judy Burkett, Bob Briggs, Chris (Jan) Briggs, Jill (Jeff) DeHaan, and Jon (Belinda) Briggs, and many cousins who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his grandfather; Robert Briggs and one cousin Mike Burkett. Family and friends may call from 10 AM until 1 PM at the church on Raccoon Rd. Arrangements are by Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family request material tributes take the form of donations to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 in Nick’s name.
