NIKLAUS E. "NIK" AMSTUTZ, 50 BOARDMAN--- There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman for Niklaus E. "Nik" Amstutz, 50, who passed away Friday afternoon at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital. Mr. Amstutz was born July 7, 1963 in Youngstown, a son of C. John "Jack" and Barbara B. Behlen Amstutz. He was a 1981 graduate of Boardman High School and had attended both Ohio University and Youngstown State University. Nik was self employed. Nik was a member of the church and was very active in his community and various organizations. Nik was a member of the Boardman Rotary Club where he had served as president and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a member of Argus Lodge No. 545 F.& A.M., the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Youngstown where he had served as Most Wise Master of the Youngstown Chapter of Rose Croix and was currently serving as 2nd Lieutenant Commander of the Mahoning Consistory. Nik also belonged to Al Koran Shrine Temple in Cleveland, the Youngstown Shrine Club and the Four Square Club. Nik was currently serving as president of the Boardman Board of Education. He was also a past president of the Boardman Booster Club and belonged to the Boardman Civic Association and the Boardman Alumni Association. Besides his parents of Canfield, Nik leaves his wife of 17 years, the former Virginia "Ginny" Oliver; his children Steven and Elizabeth of Boardman; and his brothers, Bill (Wendy) and Ronald (Amy) Amstutz both of New York City. His sister, Susan is deceased. Friends may call from 4 to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Anstrom Chapel in Boardman. There will be services by the Four Square Club and Argus Lodge following calling hours. Memorial contributions to support the new Boardman football stadium may be made in Nik's name to the Boardman Booster Club, P.O. Box 3174, Boardman, Ohio 44512.
