Norma C. Sercia formerly of Brookfield, died Wednesday (02-20-2008) at Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights, Ohio after a lengthy illness. She was 81. Mrs. Sercia was born in Akron, OH on November 04, 1926, a daughter of Harold and Minnie (Malson) Earle. Norma was a graduate of Hickory High School Class of 1944 and went on to marry John Joseph Sercia on January 17th, 1948. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, upholstering, and was an avid apple pie baker. Mrs. Sercia is survived by her son John Sercia Jr. and his wife Cindy of Greenville, PA; three daughters Linda Sercia and her husband Lawrence Sysack of Hinckley, OH, Patricia Stoker and her husband Robert of Columbia, MD, and Christine Ruffing and her husband Marc of Tarboro, NC; a sister Erma Peterson of Hermitage, PA; six grandchildren David, Gregory, Katharine, Natalea, Alyssa, and Jacob. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on July 8th, 1972; and by her sister Ruth Martin; and by her beloved black lab Jackie. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at the Madasz Funeral Chapel in Brookfield. Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Brookfield Township Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests contributions can be made to the Diabetes Foundation
