Norma Jean Hood Powell - 79 Austintown—Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Norma Jean Hood Powell 79, of Austintown who passed away early Thursday morning in Glenview Manor Care Center. Norma was born March 7, 1925 in Warren the daughter of Paul and Bertha (Beardsley) Evans and was a life long area resident and a graduate of Newton Falls High School. She was a Nurses Aide at the Ursuline Mother House for 13 years retiring in 1995. Norma enjoyed bowling and card playing. She leaves three sons; Retired Lt. Col. Chris A. Hood of Phoenix Arizona, Kevin A. Hood of Mineral Ridge, and Keith D. Hood of Austintown, two sisters; Judith Howard of Hubbard and Betty L. Heasley of Florida, and four brothers; Harold Evans of Hubbard, Ronald Evans of Punxsutawney, PA., David Evans of Austintown and Daniel Evans of Newton Falls, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Norma is preceded in death by her first husband Warren Hood who passed away in 1982, and her second husband Roger T. Powell who passed away in 1995. She is also preceded in death by two daughters Kathy Louise Hood and Cynthia Louise Hood, and two brothers Bob and Paul Evans. Family and friends may call from 9:30 AM until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
