Norman D. Snyder, Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Tuesday in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Norman D. Snyder, Sr., 66, who died early Thursday morning at Northside Medical Center. He was born February 26, 1942 in Keyser, West Va., a son of H.D. and Mae (Hill) Snyder, and he came to this area in 1964. He worked as a tow motor operator for Youngstown Steel Door for 30 years until his retirement. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, the former Barbara L. Miller, whom he married December 26, 1962. He also leaves behind three sons; Norman D. "Dave" Snyder, Jr., Steven D., and Kevin L., all of Youngstown; three brothers; Carroll (Ruth) Snyder of Maine; Ronald (Sharon) Snyder of North Carolina; and William (Denise) Snyder of Maryland; a sister, Shirley (Bob) Hanson of Wisconsin; and a sister-in-law Mary Katherine Snyder of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Odell Snyder. Friends may call from 5-7pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Green Haven Cemetery.
