Oakley E. Young

Canfield- Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Oakley Young who died Monday morning at North Side Hospital. Oakley was born April 24, 1935 in Youngstown the son of Walter and Annabell (Sturdavent) and was a life long area resident. Oakley was a member of the Ellsworth Presbyterian Church, Ellsworth V.F.W. Post 9571, 30 year member of the Berlin-Ellsworth Ruritan, attended the Canfield Fair for over 50 consecutive years and loved to hunt and fish. He retired from Standard Slag (LaFarge) in 1998 after 45 years. Oakley graduated from Canfield High School in 1953 then served 4 years in the Navy then 4 years in the Marines. Oakley is survived by his mother Annabell of Canfield, daughter, Beth (Jeff) Ortenzio of Austintown, sons; Michael (Gina) Young of Coatesville, PA., David Young of Austintown, sister Janet (Lee) Brooke of Lake Milton, brothers; Jim (Pat) Young of Lake Milton, Dale Young of Canfield He is also survived by 3020. nine grandchildren; Lindy, Samantha, Tara, Lydia, Stephanie, Vincent, Anthony, David and Sydney. He was preceded in death by his wife Caroline Lutz Young in January and his father. Family and friends may call from 6-9 pm Thursday at the funeral home
