Olive Kathleen Edwards

Olive K. Edwards, age 87 of Mecca Township, died at 11:55 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boardman. She was born March 2, 1924 in Warren the daughter of the late Edward and Violet Eddy Yunkman. She had been a lifetime Trumbull county resident, living in Mecca township for 55 years. Olive was a homemaker all of her married life and enjoyed being a wife and mother. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She had a strong Christian faith and enjoyed gardening and reading. Her husband, Charles Gerald Edwards, whom she married January 17, 1944, preceded in death in 1996. One brother, Edward Yunkman also preceded her in death. Olive is survived by four daughters, Violet R. Baughman of Clarksville, Tenn., Dawn R. Ashford of Hermitage, Tenn., Kathleen S. (Brian) Tritt and Nora L. (Mike Byers) Bianco both of Austintown; 6 grandchildren, Michael Tritt, Tracy (Dewey) Robinson, Melissa (Tim) May, Sarah (Michael) Candler and Justin and Max Ashford; 7 great grandchildren, Ashley and Daniel May, Drew and Trey Robinson, Olivia Candler, Austin Hermanowski and Luna Ashford and one great great granddaughter, Traylyn. The family will greet friends for two hours prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland. Pastor David R. Johnston will officiate.
