Ollie Sue Ashcraft

November 16, 1943 — February 9, 2014

Mrs. Ollie Sue Ashcraft, 70 of Warren, went home to be with the Lord Sunday evening, February 9, 2014, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born November 16, 1943 in Mannington, West Virginia the daughter of the late Okey Edward and Gracie Opal Sparks Kerns. She had been a Warren resident for 50 years coming from West Virginia. Ollie Sue was a 1961 graduate of Shinnston (WVa.) High School. She had worked for the Robert-Hall Clothing Store in Warren and retired as a dietary aide at Trumbull Memorial Hospital after 13 years of service. Ollie Sue was a member of St. Mary's Church in Warren and was strong in her faith. She was a member of Women Walking in Faith at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (Ss. Cyril & Methodius Church). She enjoyed camping and cooking and loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She is survived by her husband of over 48 years, David Ray Ashcraft, whom she married November 24, 1965; one daughter, Sarah G. (Kevin) Ashcraft Johnson of Warren; four sons, Mike (LIsa) Ashcraft of Warren, Steven Kerns Ashcraft of Orlando, Fla., Timothy E. (Amy) Ashcraft of Warren and Father David John Ruchinski of Gainesville, Fla. and five grandchildren, Dominic, Haley, Hunter, Taylor and Riley. Besides her parents, two brothers, Marvin Chambers and Dewey Kerns and one sister, Ellen Kerns Waugh have preceded her in death. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, where a vigil service will take place at 8:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Warren with Rev. David John Ruchinski and Rev. Bernard Schmalzried celebrating the Mass. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
