Pearl Barrett Stevens, 91 Mineral Ridge:Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Lane Family Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel for Pearl Barrett Stevens, 91, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at home in North Carolina on June 14, 2015. She was born in Niles, Ohio on November 8, 1923 to the late John C. and Louise Dunkleman Raynes.. She graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1941 and attended Youngstown College. Pearl worked as a cost accountant for Mahoning Valley Steel and Jones and Laughlin Steel until her retirement in 1978. On September 1, 1945, Pearl married Paul C. Barrett who passed away in 1978. They had one daughter, Judith. Pearl lived her entire early life in Niles and moved to Mineral Ridge in 1954. She married Robert Stevens in 1985 who preceded her in death in 1998. Pearl relocated to Herndon, Virginia in 2004 to be with family. In 2014, she relocated to West End, NC with her daughter and granddaughter. Pearl is survived by her daughter, Judith Barrett Johnston of West End NC; 2 grandchildren, Rebecca Johnston Tucker (Stephen Tucker) of West End, NC; and David Jeffrey Johnston (Sarah Streett Johnston) of Glenshaw, PA; and one great-grandson, David Andrew Johnston of Glenshaw, PA. In addition, she is also survived by her sister, Mary Ainsley of Cortland, Ohio, and a brother, Jack Raynes of Anaheim, CA. Pearl was an active member of her beloved Mineral Ridge Church of Christ where she served as Treasurer of Women Working for Christ. She was a 70 year member of the Eastern Star. Pearl served for over 30 years with Trumbull County Mobile Meals. She was a member of Herndon United Methodist Church while in Virginia. She loved camping, fishing and being outdoors. She also loved Max, the family schnauzer who was her dearest companion. As an avid hobbyist, Pearl enjoyed quilting, ceramics, tole painting, making porcelain dolls, flower arranging, and was famous for her Christmas chocolates. Friends may call on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.
