Pastor John R Klimenko, 76 formerly of Fowler and Vienna, died noon Friday, July 24, 2015, at Omni Manor Health Care Center in Youngstown. He was born August 30, 1938 in Homestead, Pa. the son of the late John and Virginia Ondo Klimenko. John served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He had a long career at Serex Services Corp. prior to entering the ministry as an ordained pastor in the United Methodist Church for many years, serving as pastor at the Fowler United Methodist Church when he retired in 2010. John was an avid fisherman and boater, enjoying walleye fishing in June in the western basin of Lake Erie. He enjoyed owning his own boat for several years and loved reading and the church dinners in Fowler. John is survived by four daughters, Debbie (Rick) Taylor of Bethel Park, Pa., Lisa "Liddy Lou" Klimenko of Roswell, Ga., Chrissy Klimenko of Buford, Ga. and Amanda (Tim) Brookbank of Girard; two sons, Dwayne (Sara) Klimenko of Indianapolis and Scott (Marissa) Klimenko of Girard; eight grandchildren, Corey and R.J. Taylor of Bethel Park, Jaelyn and Casey Brookbank of Girard, Abe and Abrielle Klimenko of Indianapolis and Joseph and John Klimenko of Girard; one sister, Donna (Terry) Mudd of Pittsburgh and one brother, Robert (Mary Jane) Klimenko of Chicago. The funeral service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the service Tuesday.
