Patricia Ann Matta

Patricia A. "Pat" Matta of Masury passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at home, with her family by her side. She was 66. Pat was born July 17, 1944, in Harrison Township, to Victor and Suzanna (Kraynik) Kubisa. She was a 1962 graduate of West Deer High School. She married her husband, Donald D. Matta, on April 1, 1967. Pat retired in 2006 after 18 years as a shipping clerk at Victor Printing Co. in Sharon, where she was a much-respected employee and was recognized as Employee of the Year. Pat, an avid Steelers fan, spent countless hours perfecting every inch of her many beautiful flower gardens. She loved spending time with her family, especially her eight grandsons, who lovingly called her "Maga" and "Pat-Pat." She was always ready for game after game of Baggo, playing slots, bowling and softball. She is survived by her husband; her mother; two sons, Gregory Matta and his wife Tifany of Sharpsville, and Christopher Matta and his wife Laura of North Ridgeville, Ohio; a daughter, Jennifer Seward and her husband John of Olmsted Township; a stepson, Jeff Totin and his wife Rachel of Sharon; three brothers. Victor "Sonny" Kubisa of Bairdford, Andrew Kubisa and his wife Mary Jo of Gibsonia, and George Kubisa and his wife Shanon of Bairdford; two sisters, Bernadette Lerch and her husband John and Beverly Brocious and her husband Robert, all of West Deer; and eight grandsons: Jonathan and Jeffrey Totin; Jacob Matta; Aiden, Owen and Evan Matta; and Jack and Jason Seward. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Victor Albert Kubisa. Calling hours will be held on Sunday evening January 16, 2011 from 4-7:00 PM at the Madasz Funeral Chapel 6923 Warren-Sharon Road in Brookfield, OH 44403. Closing prayers will begin at 9:15 AM on Monday January 17, 2011 at the funeral home immediately to be followed by the celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:00AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, St. Bernadette Church 7808 Locust Street in Masury, Ohio 44438.
