Paul A. Thomas

McDonald- Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel for Paul Thomas who died Sunday evening at his residence. Paul was born April 2, 1930 in McDonald the son of A. J. Thomas and Ethel L. (Jarrett) Thomas and was a lifelong McDonald resident. Paul was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Warren. He retired in 1992 from Liberty Steel where he had been a truck driver supervisor. Prior to working at Liberty Steel he was a self employed truck driver for 15 years. He was a member of the Antique Tractor Club at the Canfield Fair, raised and showed ponies at the fair also. Paul was a 3rd generation farmer and enjoyed his farm and being on his tractor. He is survived by his children; Marjorie (Robert) Adair, John (Joyce) Thomas, Paula (Eric) Hoffman and daughter in law Hope Thomas all of McDonald. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Jason, Rob, Heather, Jonathan, Barb, Stephanie, Paul, John Luke, Heidi, Claire and 10 great grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Barbara J. (Minto) Thomas whom he married May 19, 1951 and who died September 2, 2007, son Jay, sister Margaret Baker and a great granddaughter. Family and friends may call from 11 am until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
