Paul Jonathan Achey89 AustintownThere will be services at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Lane Family Funeral Homes Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Austintown for Paul Jonathan Achey, 89, of Austintown, who passed away Tuesday evening in Northside Medical Center. Paul was born March 30, 1925 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the son of the late, Jonathan Fred and Mary Victoria (Mitzler) Achey. He retired as a truck driver/forklift operator for the Tamarkin Company in 1987, after 42 years of service. Paul was an Army veteran during World War II, where he received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He was member of St. Joseph Church, where he volunteered for their bingo, and he was a former member Honterus Lutheran Church. Paul was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post # 93 of the Drum and Bugle Corp, Teamsters Retirees, and the AARP. His wife, the former Marion M. Carkido, whom he married July 26, 1945, passed away August 22, 2005. Paul leaves two daughters, Victoria J. (Andy) Pazillo, of Austintown, Janet M. (Dr. Robert) Bartosh, of Oakwood, Illinois; one son, Paul T. (Cathy) Achey, of Arizona; one daughter in law, Kathy Achey, of Austintown; one brother, Charles L. Achey, of Liberty Township; a dearest friend and companion, who became the second love of his life, Rosemarie Enderton; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, Paul is preceded in death by his son, Jonathan P. Achey. Friends and family may call, Thursday evening 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
