Pearl M. Folkwein, of Youngstown, passed away at 9:42 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 at Valley Healthcare System Northside Medical Center in Youngstown. She was 98 years old. Miss. Folkwein was born on April 6, 1913 in Youngstown the daughter of the late Charles E. and Emma A. (Holmes) Folkwein and was a graduate of Chaney High School. Miss Folkwein retired from Metal Carbides and previously worked for Isaly Dairy and Liberty Manufacturing. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Youngstown. Miss Folkwein is survived by her sister Marion L. Kohler with whom she made her home; nieces and nephews Judy (Larry) Lynn and their son Larry Michael of Canfield, David (Diane) Kohler of Canfield, Richard Bell, Deborah (Frank) Lazorishak, Charles (Kathy) Folkwein and Gary (Karen) Folkwein; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. Besides her parents, Miss Folkwein was preceded in death by two sisters Helen Folkwein and Winifred Perrett and two brothers Charles and William Folkwein. There will be no calling hours and a private funeral service will be held on Monday morning at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel with Pastor Nick Mager presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Miss Folkwein's name to First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, 201 Wick Ave, Youngstown, Ohio 44503.
