Pearl Mae Zolnier

Mrs. Pearl Mae Zolnier of Masury, Ohio, passed away on Thursday afternoon December 2, 2010 at 2:20 PM at the O'Brien Memorial Care Center in Masury, OH. She was 85 years old. Born on May 28, 1925 in Bridgeport, OH to Stephen and Pauline (Kelp) Kovach, Pearl was a 1943 Alumna of Brookfield High School. Following her graduation, she went on to marry Michael A. Zolnier on April 26, 1947 and together have shared more than sixty-three years of marriage and their four children. Pearl had worked as a store clerk for the former Valley View Department Store and had enjoyed taking gambling trips, and baking for her family. She was a long time member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church where she had been a member of the women's club. Mrs. Zolnier is survived by her husband Michael; her children Thomas Zolnier and his wife Tamara, Kenneth Zolnier and his wife Stacy all of Masury, OH, son James Zolnier and his wife Kathy of San Ramon, CA, and daughter Patricia True and her husband Rodney of Green Oaks, IL; brother Eugene Kovach of Wadsworth, OH; sister Bettie Morocco of Wheatland, PA; nine grandchildren Kevin, Stephen, Michael, Casey, Kendel, and Kelsey Zolnier, Steven, Kelly, and Doug True; and her three great-grandchildren Ryan, Katelyn, and Mason Zolnier. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her grandson Mathew Zolnier. Calling hours for friends and family will be held on Sunday evening December 5, 2010 from 4-7:00 PM at the Madasz Funeral Chapel in Brookfield, OH. Closing prayers will begin at 9:15AM on Monday morning December 6, 2010 at the funeral home followed by a celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial which will begin at 10:00AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, St. Bernadette's Catholic Church at 7808 Locust Street Masury, OH 44438, with Msgr. John Zuraw as celebrant. Burial will follow at Brookfield Township Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of the O'Brien Memorial Care Center for the special care they provided Pearl during her time with them.
