CANFIELD-Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10AM Saturday, December 2, 2006 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with closing prayers at 9:30 AM in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Philomena “Malene” A. Pehm, 91, of Samuel Ct. in Canfield, who passed away at 3:56 AM in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Malene was born June 16, 1915 in Youngstown and was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Nancy Altiere. Malene retired in 1985 as a self employed hairdresser and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Austintown and was an avid bingo player. Malene was preceded in death on May 4, 1979 by her husband Joseph Pehm whom she married on October 15, 1943. Malene is survived by two daughters Patricia (Kenneth) Patterson with whom she made her home, and Mary Jo Sikora of Poland; one sister Mary Jamison of Youngstown; a brother Fred Altiere of North Carolina; four grandsons Kenneth (Valerie) and Brian (Holly) Patterson, and Keith and Michael Sikora; and three great grandchildren Victoria, Catherine, and Joshua Patterson. In addition to her parents and husband, Malene was preceded in death by two sisters Rose Bengala, and Helen Viglione; and four brothers Anthony, Dominic, James, and Joseph Altiere. Family and friends may gather on Friday, December 1, 2006 from 5 until 8 PM in the funeral home.
