Phyllis E Byler

Phyllis E. Byler, 76, went to Heaven Friday morning, September 6, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Warren OH. She was born in Warren on July 7, 1937, a daughter of John Szabo and Louise (Nims) Szabo. She was a 1955 graduate of Fowler High School. She was also a long time resident of Cortland. Phyllis married Freeman Byler on August 25, 1956 who preceded her in death in 2008. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She volunteered at Hillside Hospital and enjoyed baking, cooking for her family, painting, and other crafts. Phyllis will be missed by her three sons Jeffrey (Brenda) Byler of Cortland; Mark (Sherri) Byler of Fort Wayne, IN; David (Julie) Byler of Warren; one brother Richard (Carolyn) Szabo of Cortland; her seven grandchildren, Brandon and Alyssa of California; Sheila and Olivia of Fort Wayne, IN; and Aaron, Justin, and Zachary of Warren; and one great-grand child, Anthony of California. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Sassy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Funeral Services will be held at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, 164 N. High Street Cortland, OH 44410 on Tuesday September 10, 2013 at 6:00PM.
