Phyllis Elaine Malone of Brookfield, OH, died on Monday (05-04-2009) at 5:05 PM at Hospice House in Poland, OH after a brief illness. She was 71 years old. Mrs. Malone was born in Sharon, PA on August 2, 1937, a daughter of Louis T. and Stella (Pelc) Bell. She was a 1955 Graduate of Brookfield High School, and went on to marry Samuel Salvatore Malone on May 23, 1964 in Sharon, PA. Together they would share forty-three years of marriage. Phyllis retired from Sawhill Tubular after working in the accounts receivable department for nine years. Prior to starting a family, Phyllis worked as a secretary at General American for fifteen years. A part-time position at Rite Aid Pharmacy in Hermitage, PA was held later in her life. She was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sharon, PA. One Phyllis’s passions in life was cooking for family and friends. Earlier in her life, Phyllis entered several of her recipes in cooking contests. For more than fifty-four years she relished her monthly gatherings with the members of BB Card Club. Phyllis took pleasure in gardening and planting flowers. Some of her most memorable experiences were trips to Italy, cruises to the Caribbean and family vacations to the East Coast. Above all, she loved her role as a dedicated mother, mother, a loving life, and a proud grandmother. She is survived by her mother Stella Bell of Hermitage, PA; her son Christopher Malone and his wife Victoria of Sharpsville, PA; her daughter Nadine Malone of Brookfield, OH; her sister Beverly Joan Voyce of Joliet, IL; and by her two grandsons Antonio Salvatore Malone and Dominic Angelo Malone; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and more recently by her husband on August 3, 2007. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sharon, PA. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-8 PM at the Lane Funeral Homes, Madasz Chapel, Brookfield. Burial will be in Brookfield Township Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests contributions can be made to the Humility of Mary Hospice House in Poland, OH and the American Cancer Society.
