Phyllis L. Mackey, age 72 of Champion Township, died at 9:14 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at her home. She was born October 4, 1938 in Warren, the daughter of the late Raymond and Annis Bumgarner Anthony. She was a lifetime area resident. Phyllis was a 1957 graduate of Champion High School. She retired from the payroll department of Copperweld - CSC Steel after 28 years service. She served as a union officer for the USWA at Copperweld Steel. Phyllis was a member of Champion Presbyterian Church and a member of the Silver Sneakers at the YMCA. She loved traveling on trips with her daughter and her friends and loved her cats. She enjoyed bowling, flower and vegetable gardening and birdwatching. Her husband, David L. Mackey, whom she married October 24, 1959, preceded her in death on May 16, 2005. Surviving are one daughter, Michelle L. (Richard) Rogers of Champion and one grandson, Richie. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren and one hour prior to the funeral services on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Noon at the Champion Presbyterian Church. Pastor Marvin Barney will officiate. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund at Champion Presbyterian Church, 4997 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren 44483 or Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown 44512-2198.
