Ralph R. Grapentine – 76 Austintown—Services will be 10 am Saturday at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Ralph R. Grapentine, 76, of Austintown who passed away Tuesday morning at his home. Ralph was born February 19, 1928 in Youngstown the son of Walter and Edna (Perkins) Grapentine and was a life long area resident. He worked as an electrician with the I.B.E.W. #64 for 37 years retiring in 1990. Ralph was a member of Mahoning United Methodist Church in Youngstown, The Gideon Bible Society, United Methodist Lay Speakers Association, and was involved with scouting for a number of years as a Troop Leader and Scout Master of Troop #47. Ralph produced 10 Eagle Scouts with the Western Reserve Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He was also an avid outdoorsman. Ralph leaves his wife the former Dorothy Lally whom he married February 16 1952, two daughters; Karen (Mike Capito) Kunkle of Vienna, and Shirlee (Kenneth) Fowler of Stow, two sons; Brett and Dean (Skye) Grapentine both of Austintown. Ralph also leaves a sister Deloris Meredith of Canfield, and four grandchildren; Amanda and Matthew Kunkle of Vienna, and Heather and Joseph Fowler of Stow. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 pm Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial tributes take the form of donations to the church in Ralph’s name.
